The Karima Gordon Foundation (KGF) is a 501(c)3 organization that educates on the dangers of black market cosmetic procedures.
KGF was created to save lives from illegal cosmetic procedures by motivating girls and women to be self-confident, set goals and realize their potential to achieve them. This will be accomplished through enriching educational, social, cultural and mentoring experiences that enhance self-esteem and purpose. The Foundation is also committed to ongoing education of the dangers of illegal body enhancement procedures to local and regional principalities.
KFG will achieve its mission and goals through highlighting the exceptional talents and experiences that brought joy and excellence to Karima Gordon’s life. She was an amazing visual artist, physical fitness buff and a trained model. These talents will be the underlying themes to enhance self-worth through workshops, seminars, pageantries, health and fitness sessions and cultural inspiring trips. Scholarships will also be awarded to assist participants with future educational goals.
Karima Gordon lost her life at the age of 37 leaving behind a then 16-year-old son who adored her. His life has been altered as well. Karima was strikingly beautiful but felt the need to change her physical appearance. This peculiar desire to improve her already seemingly perfect outward appearance took her life. Everyday more cases are reported from around the world that women are endangering their lives through body enhancement procedures. The risks are real even when the procedure is performed by a legitimate medical doctor. KGF hopes to minimize the deaths and physical deformities that occur within the local community and beyond as a result of this dangerous procedure.
Your contributions and/or talents, expertise and knowledge will be greatly appreciated to educate, mold, mentor and sponsor prospective participants for a healthy life full of self- love and the love of others.
KGF’s underlying thread, for all experiences, is to empower participants to appreciate their own beauty and self-worth.
We honor Karima’s legacy by helping others excel in the arts she enjoyed with financial assistance to deserving, qualified persons.
KGF promotes academic achievement by providing scholarships to graduating high school students.
The Foundation financially sponsors hopeful pageant contestants to help make dreams come true.
The Foundation is committed to ongoing education on the dangers of illegal body enhancement procedures.
Our mandate is to focus on building relationships that foster success and self-confidence.
Karima you were a star in our family, a beautiful flower in our garden, an irreplaceable daughter. We console ourselves knowing that you have left us for a better and beautiful place. Our eyes will always be wet because you are not here, but we know that your beauty will always reside in our hearts. Forever love, Daddy
What I miss most about my niece, Karima is her inner beauty. She was drop dead gorgeous but her heart and soul were just as beautiful. Karima was also fearless, knew what she wanted and never shied away from professional experiences that were deemed non-conventional for women. She was my Shero!!
I still think I will wake up from a bad dream.
If only I knew, I could have convinced her not to.
